VOLKSWAGEN INTRODUCTION:

Volkswagen created not just a car but an American cultural icon when the company popularized Volkswagen Beetles the 1960's (although the car's original design dates back to Germany in the 1930's). The German carmaker revived the brand with wild success in recent years, thanks to a new design that pays homage to the original Beetle. The car's popularity helped pave its way onto the racing cup circuits, alongside the Lupo Cup car also featured in GT3.

VOLKSWAGEN NEW BEETLE 2.0:

The New Beetle's engine is a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder SOHC, generating a maximum power of 115 bhp @ 5200 rpm and maximum torque of 122 lb-ft @ 2600 rpm. It boasts plentiful torque in the low-rev region, giving it an extremely smooth ride. The accelerator response is also excellent. In addition, the 4-speed automatic is excellent in its perfection, with no gearshift shock at all.

By giving priority to design within a limited size, the roominess of the rear seat is not something to be praised. However, the current Beetle - with a price higher than that of the Golf - is positioned much differently than the Beetle of the past. But to people whom mostly use only front seats, its fine workmanship as a car should be worth a look.
