Subaru:
The word "Subaru" is Japanese for "unite," and its logo of six stars represents the Pleiades - a portion of
the Taurus constellation. It's an apt description for Subaru, which is one of five companies of Japan's Fuji Heavy Industry.
Subaru is not only a premier car maker in the world of rally racing, but it is also considered one of the pioneers in the
development of all-wheel cars.
SUBARU IMPREZA SEDAN WRX STi VI:
Based on Subaru's outstanding sports model the Impreza, the WRX STi is a hot model specially
modified by Subaru Tecnica International (STi) which evolved from previous Version V to the new Version VI in September 1999.
The most notable feature of the Version VI is its exterior. In order to further boost driving performance,
a front under-spoiler that reduces aerodynamic drag and front buoyancy was added. Optional bullet-shaped door mirrors aiming at
reduced aerodynamic drag and lower weight are available. The rear quarter glass was also made thinner to reduce weight along with
other typically STi practical modifications. In addition, a new 6-spoke design is used for the aluminum wheels.
You may think of these exterior improvements as simply dress-ups made under the name of a minor change,
but in this Impreza WRX series, this is not the case. All the newly improved aero parts are the product of the search for more
speed. The STi version in particular had already achieved an overwhelming power potential, so the effects of improving the
aerodynamic performance by changing out aero parts are great. Not only for its looks, you should experience the dynamic performance
of the VI reaching for the limits.
SUBARU LEGACY Touring Wagon GT-B:
The Subaru Legacy has managed to break open the "wagon" genre which had not been familiar up until then,
becoming the standard-bearer for the new age.
After undergoing a full model change in May 1993, the second generation is in no danger of losing its position.
In the Legacy Touring Wagon series as such, the model called the GT-B is positioned as the top-of-the-line sports model.
As in the Touring Sedan RS, the 2.0L horizontally opposed 4-cylinder DOHC 16-valve EJ20 engine is combined was
a 2-stage twin turbo that functions as a single turbo at low rpm and as a twin at high rpm. It achieves a maximum power of 250 ps
and a maximum torque of 31.5 kg-m.
But with major improvements made in August 1996, changes to the turbocharger and changes to the turbo pressure
were made for the purpose of improving performance. It resulted in this EJ20 reaching a maximum power of 280 ps @ 6500 rpm and
maximum torque of 34.5 kg-m @ 5000 rpm which can be said to be the best in the 2.0L class like the Sedan RS.
As a result, even as a wagon its ability is already on par with that of the sports car, and regarding dynamic
performance/driving performance, it has ability that is without a doubt, tops among mid-sized wagons.
